Alumni Success StoriesAs we gather to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Nava Hind School, Neelam Ralhan Verma’s remarkable journey stands as a shining example of perseverance, excellence, and the enduring impact of her alma mater.
Neelam completed her Higher Secondary education at Nava Hind School in 1974, laying the foundation for her future academic pursuits. She then went on to earn a degree in Physics (Honors) from Hindu College, Delhi University, followed by a Master’s degree in Physics in 1977. Her academic achievements were further complemented by a Bachelor of Education degree from the Central Institute of Education, Delhi University.
Neelam’s professional journey began as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in Physics at a government school. Her life took a significant turn in 1987 when she married Mr. S.S. Verma, and together they established a pioneering business manufacturing Vertical Process Cameras in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon. This innovative venture not only introduced an Indian alternative to imported equipment but also thrived under their leadership, with over 2,500 cameras sold across India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
Neelam and her husband have been blessed with two accomplished children. Their son, an Aerospace Engineer from IIT Kharagpur and an M.S. from Florida, currently works as a Data Scientist at Air India. Their daughter, a talented interior designer, successfully runs her own business alongside her husband.
As Neelam looks back on her remarkable journey, she feels immense gratitude for her education at Nava Hind School, the friendships that shaped her early years, and the opportunities that life presented. Her story serves as a testament to the power of perseverance, hard work, and the enduring impact of her alma mater.
As Neelam prepares to reconnect with her fellow alumni, she eagerly anticipates reliving old memories, celebrating the remarkable lives they’ve lived, and forging new bonds. Her enthusiasm is a testament to the enduring spirit of Nava Hind School and the lifelong connections that have been forged within its walls.
