Renu Ralhan : A Distinguished Educator
Alumni Success StoriesRenu Ralhan, a renowned educator and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) of English at S. Co-ed School in Gulabi Bagh, Delhi, reflects on her formative years at Nava Hind School with nostalgia and gratitude. Her 12-year tenure at Nava Hind School, culminating in her completion of the Science stream in 1983, laid the foundation for her future accomplishments.
Renu’s academic journey continued with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics (Honors) from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. Inspired by her teachers, she pursued a Bachelor of Education degree, leading to her appointment as a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in Science at the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT Delhi in 1988. Her dedication and excellence earned her the Ideal Teacher Award in her inaugural year of teaching.
Throughout her illustrious teaching career, Renu has received numerous awards, certificates, and appreciation letters. Notable recognitions include the Indira Award (2003), the Dr. Radha Krishnan Award (2003), and the State Teachers’ Award (2004), presented by the then Chief Minister, Mrs. Sheila Dixit, and the Education Minister, Mr. Arvinder Singh Lovely.
Renu’s commitment to professional growth led to her training as a Master Trainer by the British Council and as a Resource Person by NCERT. She has also trained numerous teachers, demonstrating her expertise and dedication to education.
In 2017, Renu participated in the popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), showcasing her knowledge and quick thinking. Although she didn’t reach the hot seat, being among the top 10 participants in the fastest fingers first round was a thrilling experience.
Renu extends her heartfelt gratitude to the entire Nava Hind School fraternity for instilling strong values and providing a solid foundation that has enabled her to achieve her goals. Her story serves as a testament to the enduring impact of Nava Hind School’s education and values.
